다양한 구조시스템과 재료의 물성에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 설계에 직접 통합될 수 있는 구조디자인 테크닉을 배우는데 목적을 둔다. 이를 위해 독특한 하중경로를 배경으로 하는 실제 프로젝트의 사례를 살펴보고 실제로 모형 혹은 도면화를 통해 자신 만의 디자인 개념을 구현해 본다. 무엇보다 학생들의 건축설계에 보다 긴밀하게 연계하기 위해 지도교수가 학생들의 건축설계 결과물을 연계하여 직접적으로 교육한다.
