An introduction to the theories and methods of building equipment planning, including heating/cooling production, HVAC delivery, water supply, air handling, and fire protection systems. Through the study of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and their typical applications, students are taught the concrete process of building equipment planning. Students learn how to evaluate, choose, and integrate the proper equipment systems to maintain a healthy, safe, comfortable, and convenient environment. Also, students learn the impact of equipment in architectural production and management, including the design process.
