다양한 감각과 매체를 이용하여 건축적 아이디어를 발전시킬 수 있는 기본 소양을 배운다. 점, 선, 면, 부피 등의 기초 조형이 3차원 공간으로 구현되는 관계를 이해하고, 건축적 표현과 축척, 그리고 공간 인지과정을 학습한다. 건축 도면과 모형 등 전통적인 건축 표현 방법을 숙지하고, 이를 설계에 활용한다. 건물의 안과 밖의 관계를 설계 과정에서 체득하고, 대지와 건물 간의 관계를 탐색한다.

The studio focuses on developing and refining the necessary skills to convey architectural ideas succinctly in diverse media. In studying points, lines, surfaces and volumes as well as their respective relationships to three-dimensional spaces, students observe changing senses of architectural scale, depth and perception. Students draw orthographic plans, sections, and elevations in addition to making models and using multi-media in their presentation of minimal spaces of their own design. The scope of considering a site is expanded by mediated thinking of the built environment from inside and outside point of view.
